We sat down recently with Dee Deadman, Operational Director for the Move with Us conveyancing department, to pick her brains on our conveyancing service.
Please could you describe your role within the Move with Us’ conveyancing team?
I am responsible for the conveyancing department with Ian Fletcher. My job is to ensure operationally that we have the right staffing numbers, other relevant resources and tools in place to deliver to the business plan and strive to provide excellent service to our partners.
On a personal level I provide support and relevant training to all staff to allow the team to develop. I also look at ways to improve our processes to maximise performance and/or the introduction of new products and services to enable us to either improve efficiency levels and/or increase revenue streams.
What do you feel are the conveyancing team’s main achievements since you started at Move with Us?
We have secured new key accounts which is always great for the team. We’ve also seen older key accounts and individuals within the team develop and grow.
Adapting to the market restraints due to the economic climate was a big challenge but we’ve not only managed to survive during economically turbulent times, we’ve expanded our team and service too. Part of what has helped us to achieve this is adaptability such as developing new products. What we did six years ago and what we do now is completely differently whilst the core product is the same. It’s a bit like re-inventing the wheel. Despite these challenges, however, we’ve delivered a consistent revenue stream to the business which is a big achievement.
Move with Us conveyancing allows estate agents to make money by passing on conveyancing leads. Please could you describe how this process works.
Estate agents pass their client referrals to Move with Us for their conveyancing requirements and upon completion they receive a referral fee. This creates a revenue stream in the form of the referral fee as well as providing control of the transaction and less unsuccessful files.
If the estate agent enters our Conveyancing league competitions, individual negotiators within their office have the added advantage of gaining bonus bonds which can be redeemed in over 25,000 places in the UK.

Here at Move with us, we are always looking to streamline property processes and find innovative solutions to common problems within the property industry. Please could you describe how you feel our conveyancing service achieves this?
• We take the pressure off the agents as we complete the conveyancing sale process and manage it to completion via the sales team and the solicitor relationship management team. We also develop products and provide additional revenue streams which we share with our agents (if agreed).
• We also control the ordering of required searches for purchase files and, more recently, adding the ID/Anti money laundering search for the solicitors, hence streamlining the process.
• We promote “Legally Prepared” which gives assurance to our agents’ conveyancing service and can speed up transactions once the file can proceed.
Are there any other advantages to using this service?
Communication, transparency and partnership are the three key words that have helped to make our conveyancing one of the leaders for independent estate agents in the UK. We also have an online system that offers easy referral and confirmation by improving online communications and tracking updates. It makes communication between an agent, Move with Us and the solicitor very easy.
