What does the double dip recession mean for the UK’s property market?
Author: Move with Us3 May 12, 01:27 PM
Recent new stories have hit the press confirming that Britain is now in the midst of a double-dip recession after the economy shrank 0.2% in quarter one.
The Office for National Statistics has attributed the contraction to an acute fall in construction output for the reduction on www.bbc.co.uk.
Bank of England Governor, Sir Mervyn King, predicts that the economy will continue to fluctuate throughout 2012 as is typical of the recession.
He has also tipped a contraction in quarter two when it is believed the additional bank holiday for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee will reduce output.
EPC regulations - important information about changes to your website
Author: Move with Us5 Apr 12, 01:13 PM
From the 6 April 2012 (tomorrow), it will be a requirement to attach the entire front page of the EPC to property particulars, as opposed to just the graph as is currently the case. This relates to any electronic particulars on your website, and will apply to all properties listed after this date.
Properties on your Online Office website
The main requirement for property advertisements on your website is that if the page includes a property brochure or print summary, there must be a link to either the full EPC, or the entire front page. We have put a new process in place for all our Online Office websites to ensure you are compliant with the new legislation. This includes those that supply properties via a data feed or manually upload in the Move with Us members' area.

Author: Move with Us2 Apr 12, 03:24 PM
As current property sale fall through rates are currently at around 20%*, we have decided to offer free second search packs** for all our conveyancing consumers if their first property purchase fall through.

This enhancement to our current offering is part of Move with Us’ commitment to offer all our customers a quality assured conveyancing service in addition to the other benefits, such as no sale, no legal fee.
Property search packs are vital to any property transaction and insisted upon by mortgage lenders. They provide information on flooding, drainage, water connection and chancel checks. If a property sale doesn’t complete it is the potential buyer who will suffer the financial loss.
Supporting second steppers

Robin King, Director of Move with Us, the residential property expert, talks about supporting the property market's second steppers:

“So called ‘second steppers’ find themselves in a difficult situation right now. The value of their home has dropped to a point where they are left with just two choices: sell at a loss, or sit still until their property regains its value. Those who bought in the peak of 2006/2007 are now finding themselves in a completely different buying market. Home owners looking to move up the property ladder are often trapped in properties that are too small – but unlike first-time buyers there are few incentives available to help them step up the ladder.”

We are busy working on our new packs to help estate agents in their quest to sell conveyancing. The designs are first-class and the content has been carefully crafted to support the agents that use our conveyancing service to the best of our ability.

What do these packs involve?
The packs have been designed so that the branch manager of each office can encourage dialogue about conveyancing. This will help to generate ideas and stimulate new approaches to selling.
